Lehighton Borough supplies municipal utilities to our customers including electric, garbage, sewer and water which are billed monthly to our customers. Our customers have all services on one bill for convenience and efficiency.
Missing Your Borough Bill??
The Utility Billing Office has been receiving complaints that regularly-scheduled bills have not been arriving on time, and some bills have not arrived at all.
If you usually receive a Borough bill and live/work in the Heights, Gypsy Hill, the Highrise, or along Blakeslee Boulevard, you may not receive your February utility bill. If you do not receive a bill, you may pay your bill online or come in M-F 8:30 to 4:00 and request a duplicate bill.
If you live in these areas and do not have any outstanding utility bills, you may wait for the March bills and pay both at once with no penalty.
We are currently working with the US Postal Service to determine the cause for the missing postage.
Our utility staff handles all utility billing, collection, accounting, customer service and delinquent collection. The utility office also bills for water customers in Weissport, Franklin Township and Mahoning Township. For questions, please email or call 610-377-4004.

The Lehighton Water Authority services the water utility in the Boroughs of Lehighton and Weissport along with the Townships of Franklin and Mahoning. Lehighton Borough Council appoints the members of the Authority and they must be a tax payer of the Borough of Lehighton. Visit the Lehighton Water Authority Website at: www.lehightonwater.com.
The regular meetings of the Lehighton Water Authority will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building on the first Wednesday after the first Monday each month.
The PA Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) mandated the Lehighton Borough, along with Mahoning and Franklin Townships, and the Borough of Weissport to submit a joint official plan for a regional sewage facility plant. The Central Carbon Municipal Authority (CCMA) was formed by the four municipalities to construct and manage the regional sewer plant. Boards from each municipality appoint community members to serve on the CCMA Board.
Lehighton Borough has owned and operated its own electric system since 1943. The Borough is responsible for the distribution system and utility billing. For more information, please visit the Light & Power Page.
