Lehighton Borough Public Works will provide essential services to the citizens in a prompt, courteous, safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner and strive to plan, design, build, maintain, and operate services involving public infrastructure and facilities to enhance the quality of life in Lehighton.

Leaf Collection
The Public Works Department begins leaf collection the month of November – weather permitting. Residents are asked to place all leaves at the curb line on the street. Do not park on the leaves. If there is rain in the forecast, do not place leaves at the curb being they will wash into storm drains and cause blockages.
Snow Plowing & Removal
Public Works is responsible for maintaining the streets and borough properties during snow storms. Please be patient with the crews and staff during major snow events. Refer to our flyer "Snow Event Fact Sheet" for more information. During major events, please follow our social media and pay attention to the information provided in the automated calls from the Borough.
Street Sweeping
First Street and Bankway are scheduled for street sweeping every Wednesday beginning in March and ending in November. Please familiarize yourself with the signs within that district. All other streets will be posted with the Orange No Parking Signs and will be cleaned on the dates designated on the signage.
